Something my Dad used to tell me;

"Get over it, take care of today because yesterday is lost."

Those words ring so true, I had a problem at times dwelling on past issues and the key word is past. The shoulda coulda woulda can really mess you up and you lose sight of whats in front of you.

Just concentrate on being the man you want to be and you will become the man you want to be.

I like this quote from Walter Percy:
Life is fits and starts, mostly fits.
The past is past..you did what seemed most right for you to do at the time, and yea, your crystal ball was a bit cloudy...now had it been clearer...things would have been different...but it is what it is, so no regrets!!!Today is the first day of the rest of your life!!!

Some great words of guidance from fellow commentators. I'll agree with the theme of these comments. You've survived. Learned. Grown. Emerged. Now there is a big, bright future before you, and you as a wiser and stronger person are ready for it. Enjoy!
